To join EUSKC, contact our Committee or come along to any traditional Shotokan class. Starting Wednesday 21st September, the 2011/12 academic year training times are as below

Our club welcomes members at any level of experience, and membership is available any time throughout the year. If you have studied martial arts before speak to our Committee to find out if your grade is transferable to our association.

Please note training times are subject to change out with the academic calendar and during academic exam periods. Additional information about seminars and competitions will be announced nearer the time. Members are invited to join us at local and national competitions and students can take part in inter-university matches.

The first two weeks training are free for new members - come along and try it.

Semester fees cover tuition for all training hosted by the club (each semester is 15 weeks).

• Training Fee Semester 2 - £25

The following fees are mandatory costs which do not contribute to the running of the EUSKC. Licence and grading costs are standard to any martial arts club, and membership to the CSE is mandatory to any student who is attending a Edinburgh University sports club which makes use of CSE facilities.

To partake in UKTKF grading, a student must have a valid UKTKF license at an annual cost of £30. This fee is to insure the student against serious injury received during training. These are available for purchase from the club's licencing officer. The grading fees are around £15 - £20 per examination, approximately every 3 months. This includes a session with the grading Sensei (Sensei Kawasoe or Sensei Taylor).

Access to CSE facilities is subject to the terms of the University CSE. Non-members of the CSE may buy special membership to access the University facilities for attending Edinburgh University sports clubs' classes only. The EUSKC does not have any control over these charges, which go to the CSE. Session 2011-2012 cost is £50 for students and £100 for non-students (per club joined).
